Purpose​

Stable rules​

  • canonical truth and first-class serving truth stay forever hot in ClickHouse
  • tiering is rejected in the current design and may only return through a future slice
  • retained source files are rebuild substrate only where a governed substrate is declared
  • projections rebuild from canonical_event_log_active_v1, not from retained files directly
  • aligned projection policy rows keep the legacy columns for schema compatibility, but new runtime policy rows must use the hot-forever sentinel:
    • tier_policy=hot_forever
    • retention_hot_days=0
    • retention_warm_days=0
  • old non-sentinel aligned policy rows are legacy historical metadata, not ongoing tier doctrine
